Headwear sourcing
Crown shape and fit come before the crest
A cap order is decided by its construction. GenXport takes bulk headwear briefs from clubs, schools and brands, and the crown profile needs as much attention as the logo on the front.
Pick the construction first. A structured crown holds its shape with buckram support and keeps a tall front panel upright, which suits raised embroidery and large crests. An unstructured crown sits lower and softer, which suits printed artwork and flat embroidery. Panel count, seam type and eyelet placement are all set at this stage.
Next decide how the cap is sized. Fitted caps need a size breakdown across the roster, so collect head sizes before the order is placed. Adjustable closures with a strap, snap or hook and loop back let one size cover a wider group, which is usually the simpler route for school and club programs.
Then confirm the fabric family and the decoration method together. Cotton twill, polyester and mesh back panels each behave differently under an embroidery needle, so the stitch type, backing and crest size are checked on the sample rather than decided from a mock up alone.

Decoration

Each cap panel takes decoration differently. Match the method to the panel fabric and the artwork detail, then sign it off on the sample.
Side and rear details
Use for secondary marks, numbers or a sponsor logo. Keep these small, since side panels curve and distort larger artwork.
Panel graphics
Printed panels carry gradients, patterns and photographic detail. Panels are decorated before assembly, so artwork is final at sample stage.

Sizing and grading
Fitted caps are graded across the head size range you supply. Adjustable caps still need a crown depth decision.
Color references
Send references for crown panels, visor, eyelets, button and sandwich trim so a reorder repeats closely.
Construction checks
Panel seams, visor stiffness, sweatband stitching and closure strength are all reviewed on the sample cap.
Private label and packing
Custom sweatband labels, hang tags, size stickers and individual polybagging are produced to your artwork.
